"⭐️ Very disappointing experience — I strongly recommend looking elsewhere for insurance.

I had been a State Farm homeowner’s insurance customer for many years, and I honestly cannot believe how poorly this situation was handled.

Toward the end of last year, I was told that they had tried to contact me multiple times about my homeowners insurance. The problem is that I never received an email, a text message, or any meaningful notice from them. If keeping a customer’s policy is important, there should be a real effort to make sure the customer actually receives the notice.

My homeowners insurance was eventually canceled. As a result, my mortgage company purchased insurance on my behalf at about four times the price. On top of that, because I no longer had my homeowners policy with State Farm, I also lost the homeowners discount on my auto insurance.

In just about six months, what had been roughly $500 in insurance costs turned into about $2,300 in additional expenses because of this situation.

What makes me even more angry is the attitude I encountered when I tried to get answers. I was essentially told that the employees are paid by the hour and don’t receive commissions, so there was no real incentive for anyone to care whether a customer stayed or left. And that is exactly how it felt — nobody cared.

I have insurance on other properties, and with those policies, my other insurance agents actually call me repeatedly when a renewal or payment is coming up. They make sure I know what is happening and make sure my coverage doesn’t lapse.

Here, I felt like there was no one responsible for my account. The agent is rarely there, and the people answering the phone seemed to have no ownership of the situation and simply passed the problem around.

After being a loyal customer for years, this is extremely disappointing. A good insurance company should be proactive when a customer’s coverage is at risk — especially when a simple phone call could potentially prevent thousands of dollars in unnecessary costs.

I would not recommend this agency to anyone. If you are looking for homeowners insurance, I strongly suggest finding an agent who actually takes responsibility for their customers and their policies."
